'Premiere: Stories of isolation' / Jacob Collings

Stories of isolation is a web-series dedicated to telling the stories of individuals throughout the current unrest of lockdown. Intimate video calls with honest questions have provoked raw and moving responses and captured the perspectives of artists, nurses, indigenous advocates and parents. Their stories will be revealed over the four episodes, coupled with footage Jacob captured in isolation and soundtracked by original scores from Tasmanian musicians.

Episode one is an introduction to the series featuring three incredible women. Original music for this episode was created by Charlie Pyecroft, a Hobart based musician.

Jacob Collings is a Nipaluna (Hobart) based filmmaker and photographer, who uses videography and photography to capture the internal feelings of life and tell stories of the people around him. Upon leaving school he began his freelance career as a photographer, soon moving to the UK to complete a 6 month internship where he focussed on film logistics as a junior producer. Since returning to Tasmania he has shifted his focus inwards, realising the strength of the arts and film community that resides in Hobart. Utilising light colour palettes and limited editing, his work has an honesty and identity that has developed over time.
