What is organic or inorganic? What is authentic or inauthentic? lt’s hard to say in a synthesised music world, but the Sydney based collaborative duo leftprojects are doing their best to make the distinction clearer. Producer/guitarist Jono Graham and vocalist Sarah Corry meld their jazzier, rockier tendencies with a future-soul cool, while a helping hand on the decks from Horrorshow’s Adit gives their tunes a choppy taste. They’ve recently dropped a new music video for their tune ‘Heaven’, directed by none other than Oz-hop maestro Joyride. Seen below, the video was filmed on a green screen at the Elefant Traks warehouse and aimed to depict “…a visual representation of a higher power in the female form”. The result is a spiritual ode to renaissance art that reminds me of a more focussed Empire of the Sun.
