'Jump Off' / Kid Qualm

Co-founder of label and event-organiser Espace Noir, Kid Qualm (FKA Möwbius) has floated back into the production wormhole with new single release Jump Off. The track uses synth pads, wet percussive beats and keyboard melodies oozing with cosmic vibration to splatter acid-tainted filth back into Melbourne dance floors (where filth is used endearingly, of course). The efforts to produce space within the track make the eventual release featuring a dominating acid-line and a sample of Lil Kim’s The Jump Off all the more punchy and memorable. As Kid Qualm’s debut track under his new alias, Jump Off is sure to find a home nestled in nightclubs hiding between Melbourne’s sodden alleyways. One thing’s for sure: accepting the return of sunlight struggling to walk up the Sub Club stairs with “now I’m back with the jump off” ringing in your ears could be a nice change from the more sinister (yet bangin’ track) “Are You There?”.
