'音 - OTO' / Geddes Lane
Design by Elle Shimada, Art by D R E Z.
On Saturday the 22nd of June, walk up the luscious stairs of Geddes Lane Ballroom to be transported into a multi-disciplinary extravaganza of art, fashion and music. As the lovechild of Elle Shimada, who gathered the female creatives from Kitchen Events and Verve Magazine, 音 OTO is first and foremost a celebration of community, collaboration and creativity (The 3C’s!) The character 音, which signifies sound in Japanese and Chinese, bestows a second meaning upon 音 - OTO: a technicolour exploration of sound and light. We’ve echoed this line once and again on radios, have plastered it around Melbourne city and screamed it to anyone who will listen.
In technicolour 音 - OTO rebels against current perceptions that techno must be synonymous with dimly lit warehouses and industrial concrete jungles. We give electronic music more depth and space to breathe by associating it with the avant-garde and beseeching that it is explored in conjunction with all forms of creativity. As such, we have curated a fantastic line-up of musicians, DJs, visual and projection artists and fashion designers to create an all-immersive space allowing all to un-plug from this world dominated by technology and plug-in to this inspiring night.
Get your tickets here while they’re still $10! This is sure to be a night you won’t want to miss.
