Feast yourselves upon Kitchen Presents: Moses Carr Single Launch this Wednesday the 20th of March at Northcote Social Club. Kitchen is a project created by saxophonist Yang Chen, boasting an all-inclusive, all-immersive and all-interactive space. With the intention of supporting Melbourne’s live music scene and the up-and-coming musicians proud to call this city home, a Kitchen event will keep you on your feet dancing to the soulful sounds of jazz, trap, electro and rap like no other. This week’s event residing at NSC is part of the venue’s Wind It Up Series, featuring free live-music events on Wednesday nights.
Kicking off at 8pm, Kitchen will feature the whimsical sounds of Moses Carr, Cofi, NoLess and Gabriel LCR. Have a taste of this juicy promo clip to keep your cravings satisfied until the big night:
Young computer music innovator Moses Carr is the conduit for the world’s divine sound material. His new single ‘Bend Me Broken’ is the anti-hero trap anthem seeing hm at his wits end while relentlessly running through a psychadelic suburban landscape. With Imogen Cygler and Lucky Pereira presenting a throbbing yet angelic chorus and filmed by the creative hands of Lucas Haynes, this clip sees Moses left in the dust.
Cofi is a 6-piece outfit, ready to take you on a trek through neo-soul, improvised dance and all things groove. Formed in high-school, the group quickly won themselves a plethora of shows around town, including two sold out belters at the Gaso and a fiery set at Strawberry Fields 2017. After a few months tucked away to fine tune their eclectic sound, they’ve decided to kick off the new year with some hot material and debut releases; 2019 will be the most exciting time to catch these local cats hit the stage.
NoLess consists of 5 delicious humans who all have a deep love for for the sounds of RnB, Soul and Jazz.
Their purely original set will be jam packed with honest lyrics, soulful melodies and dirty grooves. Reminiscent of the daily mood swings of a pubescent teen, their tunes range from slow jam cry bangers to up-beat funky jams you can shake ya booties to.
Coming from Melbourne Collective The Stranger Suite, self-produced Gabriel LCR has launched his career as a solo artist. He will be performing various songs and music from his recently released EP ‘Underpass'
