'Sublime Seoul: a multifaceted project' / Tamar Gordon
The artist Sublime Seoul is interested in representing the power of the subconscious mind through figurative symbolism. Her meandering-line aesthetic depicts the wandering nature of the inner mind, as well as being inspired by the transformative and healing powers of her practice. She depicts this inspiration in a generative process of time accross the individual works and the development of her broader oeuvre, represented by the continuously evolving contours of this spiritual affair.
She works with a variety of mediums to explore notions of consumerism, contrasting the traditional gallery — painting, drawing, video — with the everyday — tattoos, stickers, clothing.
As a female artist, the role of women in art production has especially inspired her practice.
