'A happy humorous marriage' / Ruby Sinclair

It would be remiss of me not to mention the tongue-in-cheek quality to Ruby Sinclair's collage work. Quickly resonant with their audience, the passively humourous nature of Ruby's work can be located through her compositional understanding of collage and selective choice of text extracts. Rarely are the likes of language and image married in such a happy, codependent relationship. This relationship is constantly taken advantage of within her eclectic range of collage and photography. Whilst this exposé primarily focuses on Ruby's collages, the vast majority of her work is photographic. Her work is reminiscent of Laszlo Moholy-Nagy, both stylistically and conceptually.

Below is a collection of personal favourites from Ruby's folio of work. For a more extensive look into Ruby's practice, you can view her online folio at:  https://rubysinclair.viewbook.com/
