'Soliela' / Adam Elatrebi Soliman

Soliela is an up-and-coming Melbourne clothing brand inspired by parts of Arab culture. Soliela's 18-year-old designer, Adam Elatrebi Soliman, started the brand on his last trip to Egypt in 2016.

"The goal for Soliela is to have an Arab gift shop with products completely manufactured in Egypt at the highest quality possible and using 100% Egyptian cotton" Adam told Verve.

The independent brand creates streetwear: simple tee-shirts with statement graphics. Adam along with his sister Rahma—who helps create the mood boards and some of the graphics—bring their Egyptian heritage to the forefront, using designs inspired by old Egyptian books collected by their mother.

"Soliela, pronounced- sew-lei-la, basically means 'soli boy'. Our surname is Soliman—It just has a good ring to it."

Soliela is currently stocked in two stores, Concrete Jungle and hand2hand with many more stockists soon to come.
