'The Perfect Coffee' / Hugo Kohler
If you can’t do anything else, make films! We need more film submissions, we want more film submissions! So get up, make yourself a Sleven coffee and do it! Here are some more detailed instructions from the man himself.
‘Contrary to popular belief, 7-11 coffees are not a one-button affair. If you walk into Sleven, put a paper cup under the spout of the machine and press the “latte” button, you’re not going to get a latte. You’re going to get a monstrosity. Far too hot, and somehow both too weak and too bitter. In short, you’ll get a $1 coffee. Thankfully, I’ve discovered a solution. The formula is as follows:
- 1 short black coffee
- 1 part hot milk (a button near the hot water spout)
- 1 part cold milk (below the hot milk button)
First add the short black, followed by enough hot milk to leave the cup roughly 1/4 empty. Fill the rest with the cold milk, swirling the cup gently as you do.
Sounds simple, doesn’t it? Just watch out for the cleaning water.’

So there you have it, we made this film in one night. So can you! We’re interested. Submit! Now!
