Reunited again, old buddies The Stranger Suite and Squid Nebula are testing the friendship and co-headlining a months worth of Soul Nights at the Cherry Bar. Who wins? You decide.
Playing last on nights 1 and 2, The Stranger Suite will have you feeling like anything but strangers and on nights 3 and 4, Squid Nebula will be turning Soul Night into Shoal Night and inviting you to jump in head first.
SQUID NEBULA are a five piece from Melbourne not afraid to swim against the current. Since 2014, Squid Nebula have been filling watering holes around Melbourne with their paella of soul, reggae, pop and jazz that will really get your three hearts pumping.
In May this year Squid Nebula released their debut self-titled EP to much acclaim amidst a 5 week residency at the Evelyn Hotel and have seen the songs receive airplay across triple j, RRR, PBS and receive ‘Song Of The Week’ honours on The Hoist on SYN fm. In August, the band hosted their first mini festival Squid Inc. in The Gasometer Main Room with the likes of The Mamas and Messy Mammals and are now readying themselves for a big, big summer.

THE STRANGER SUITE are a 9-piece hip-hop band that blend together the driving grooves of funk and soul, the harmonic and improvisational elements of jazz, and the breakbeat centred instrumentals of 20th century hip-hop to create highly energetic live shows. After performing at Strawberry Fields Festival 2017 and releasing two singles, ‘With You’ and ‘Selfish’, earlier in the year to a sold-out show at the Evelyn hotel The Stranger Suite have an album in the works and some big announcements coming soon.
